observing - my lifestyle to risk

Last week i attended a course organized by the company that i am representing. I took the LRT from Wangsa Maju, well i rarely took the train during peak hours and I knew its gonna be pack but nevertheless i could beat the jam since I came out from my place around 730 am - and that is late enuff to get to Concorde Hotel by 8.30am. Managed to get into the train altho twas quite cramp - I was standing by the door...and i was thinking - huu..pitylah the people at the next station theres no way they could get into the train like this - so when the train arrived at the next station i decided to squezze in so that some of them could get in but....ekkkkk...wrong noble thoughts....What the toot i was thinking????..they came in and pushed everybody and the train is packed like sardines ( in a can - that is)! ...anyways I was smiling....I cant even hold to anything - so while the train 'sways' i just hafta lean on people around me... so to recover my 'regret' - i told myself - at least i dont hafta go thru this everyday - then thank goodness
around me are all ladies ( i can see some ladies looks very uncomfortable that they have
to lean 'back-to-back' with the guys - well the guys looks fine ;-) )

..then I was looking around and I noticed that majority of people inside the train are ladies...And I was wondering - errr...wheres the guys..
So i figured either the guys are always late to work or the guys dont like to take train to work or guys dont work anymore heheeehee... Reached the Dang Wangi station around 5 mins to 8.30am...I was still trying to figure out where the guys are..I walked to concorde..lookin at he busses..also I saw mostly ladies are in the bus..the cars - mix la...ada woman ada man..and at the cross junction near concorde I found my answer - aaaaa...most guys are on motorbikess...so many of them...heheeee..my assumption no 2 is correct....why? - err...that time I already lazy to ask myself any question..coz m already a bit late.. the guys can give us the answer for that..

During the course twas a bit boring - bolehla - one topic that was interesting was about Strokes presented by i dont remember who from National Stroke Association of Malaysia (NASAM). Infos on how people get strokes and the type of strokes - need not eleborate here - checkout the websites - very good infos there. They gave us questionaires for us to check our risk of strokes maybe you could try and calculate - here it is...

and I scored 6 - ouch...the only true exercise that i seriously do is playing sudoku ..ahaks... another thing i learn from the talk.... theres is no bad food but bad eating habits...

Taj Mahal.lpoh...tv pon mahal

Last two weekends i went back to my hometown Ipoh to attend my cuz wedding. Went back with my parents , One month earlier my father decided to stay there for a night in a hotel. We have so many relatives there but since my grandma past away about 8 years ago we either stay in a hotel or a one day trip - now we rarely go back even during raya since then. Altho sort of 'kena marah' by my uncles for not stayin at their place, we have prepared the various excuses nak menjawabnya nanti. We prefer the freedom n not troubling anyone, esp with my kids around; i will be ' fidgeting' even when i sleep, afraid that they would touch anything 'vulnerable' in their house - so no peace of mind. better hotel.

So one month ago i was asked by my parents to call up Seri Malaysia Ipoh - I did - full house. Call up the main hotels that is within our budget - full also, even the haunted tambun inn also full. It was a school holiday weekend. so i googled up ipoh's: hotel - waaa so many - since when Ipoh got so many hotels i dunno - I printed out the list n the contact numbers - somehow Budget Hotel Ipoh-Majestic Station Hotel Ipoh Perak Malaysia- caught my eye. Straight away call them..and phew! many rooms still available - so i booked - I standard double and I family room . rm88 and rm130 respectively... cool...cheap...for a two star budget hotel. So i asked the guy

" How much is the deposit?"
"No need - can pay upon arrival"
"Sure?"
"Yes yes.."

So...feeling very happy...told my mom... happy happy..n then she said maybe the hotel is so old nobody wants to stay there. and 5 days before the day. I was sleeping and received a call from a high and kalut tone of a strongly Perakian accent woman:

"Cik Neome ke ni"
"Err..err...uwaghh...ye"
"Saya Y dari Majestic Station Hotel , Cik Neome ada buat booking kan, Cik Neome boleh tak masukkan deposit sebab hotel kite dah penuh kalau cik neome tak masuk deposit saya tak bleh nak simpan booking cik neome" - non-stop-talkin-speed-tone
"Huh..huh...eh...la....aaa...habih camner saya dah book " still blur
"Itule deme ni, budak baghu tak tau cik neome cik neome masukle deposit nyer, ni saye ni tengah talipon semue oghang mintak deposit nih"
(My Mind just registered ) " Oh..oh deposit..ha..ha..ok...berapa nombor bank"
"Cepat ye cik neome...nanti cik neome fax pade kami dan jgn lupe bawak mase sampai nanti ye"
"ok.." blink blink blink -

hehehe...and so we arrived there at around 12 noon - pushed off around 9am ( a bit of jam - so many cars plus hey-look-accident-slow-down). Last time along the road by the majestic buiding there used to have so many food stalls and used items bazaars. - now no more - all 'cleaned' up. Drove near the entrance - an old indian guy hurriedly guide us to park..and of course we have to tip him....took our things...anxiously i wanted to 'meet' t antique elevator and be in it ( read about it ) Giggling away while entering it - hafta open the lift door manually that is by hand...woooo...then went we push a button ..it jerked 'interestingly' to begin to move up to the third floor and it jerked again when it stopped - we were laughing away, my kids were ..err...blank...In the lift there is a poem pasted to handle the lift with care.
All dearest boys & girls,
I'm as antique as your grand grand-pa,
I move slow & react slow,
If u push/pull my door when u use me,
Then I will shock there & stop there.

And so we checked in...Goodness me ...i like this place so much ( i was wondering why da toot i was not here when I was frequently in Ipoh with my Opah - maybe becoz theres no need for a hotel lah kan tht point of time) It is so antique.... the smell of ancientness filled the air...the sun shines thru the large-faded-brown blinds covering the archs along the long balcony/verandah.. read the history here... and so when I entered our room, my kids has already jumped up n down on the beds - 2 single beds and one very 'flaccid' queen size bed.First things first (priority ) - bathroom - wah so biggggggg...colonial english style ...the room has no window..so hafta open the door..and can relax on an antique chairs at the balcony. Interesting part is when we met the storytellerYasmin Ahmad and the crews and her parents and Amani, D. Rahim Razali, Ho Yuhang - they have 'shootings' there... so meeting them was kinda kewl. The room that we got is the nicer one ( I
think becoz we booked earlier ) as there are also rooms which is smaller n narrower one stairs below ours. but its nothing great about da room la...boleh laaa. Compared to da KL station , here is much more 'brighter'.

and then we change clothes - go to the wedding - very the hot weather..then back to hotel - relax - tido. at nite - had dinner at a new happening food place near rapat setia( well at least for us it is new ) - not bad...Then visit our uncles - 'kene marah' heheh.

Breakfast - not luxurious but not bad - chinese mee goreng, nasi goreng n bread butter jam. Lepak there until checked-out.

On the way back to KL was horrendous!!! so many cars...jam....very heavy rain...accidents everywhere...RnR crowd is like KLCC crowd - it took us more then 5 hrs to reach home...lucky we manage to get back before the mega-major-flood- to-create history in KL...hmmm nama pun Kuala Lumpur - hafta to change name la our city hehe..Kuala smart tunnel..hows that..

That nite..all of us...pengsannnn

All in all twas a beautiful trip lah... i will surely stay there the next time although it is haunted heheh nenenenenenenene ( lagu Twilight zone ) Believe it or not ( u can choose to ignore this statement ) - t h e E n g l i s h m e n a r e s t i l l t h e r e .....

and ..oh..btw...Amar just broke our TVVVVV , hes on top of the tv rack - jump jump jump..and bang! - the tv 'jumped' down to the floor.....waaaaaaaaaaaa... now my tv can watch but have 'rainbow' - any cheap plasma tv that i can 'paste' to the wall aaa...erkkkk..this is not cool...

United and strong...

Ayoyo is June already!!! half the year dah...Time flies , sometimes i take it by the day, sometimes i cant wait for the future, sometimes i set a drift on memory bliss..and yeah! the stmarians1989 gathering was a BLAST!!!! altho not all came as promised and some hafta leave early....but we did it! The gathering was fairly a success, not bad for a first time event organizer ( angkat bakul...) witha huge and loads of colloboration with main committee rima n ojai and so manyyyy who contributed to the goody bags, gifts and energy.... surprised by the girls 'transformations' after 18 years..and the fact is innerly their stmarians spirit is still the same - all crazy - all cool- all positive -all giggling away hugging n non-stop talking sampai it was very hard for me to stop them for a while to begin the 'show'..dah jadi macam cikgu or prefect pulak..." Girls - hear hear! Girls sit down! Girls back to your seats!! - Thank goodness the ojai who always manage to grab attention with her loudy voice manage to 'calm' them hehehe.

We have not thought of the idea of having spot games, quizzes, lucky draws, mystery gifts and awards earlier, only 2 weeks before the gathering we decided to do it after many confirmed attending, as takkan just sit and chit chat only..must have activities and immediately many has supported me at quite the last minute, We have awards on best outfits, having most kids, maintain cute, physically change and travelled the most miles to the gatherings..hehe..quizzes during school time ( some ingat some blur ), mystery gifts under the table, lucky draws ( philips products ), and spot games ( eg: who wears a black bra hehehe )

before the gathering i had a bit of anxiety attack...and during the gathering, I barely sit and after the gathering i was mega tired but smiling alll the way

So we had it at Starbucks The Weld...must wear blue and or yellow..all sempoi and santai can talk scream and laugh as loud as you can. That place is empty on Sunday - no need official booking - perfect - they buy their own drinks and food ( so less hassle of money collection ) and the weld is just infront of our former school - but nobody dared to go there ahahaha too spooky.... it is supposed to b a museum - but dunno what happen. After the fun we managed to contribute a good sum for our friend who is suffering Myloid Leukaemia Stage 3 and pregnant, she came, altho a bit weak - and i felt like hugging her all the time - the energy n fun we had boost out her self esteem and she cant stop smiling... We will continue to support each other in whatever ways to rekindle the magical spirit of friendship we built 18 years ago! and when we sang the school song everybody stood up and sang 'graciously' hehe

After everything settled, some of us adjourned to the mcdonald downstairs, the place we use to lepak after school hehe.... I had my lunch there at 6.30pm..while listening to them whos still cannot stop talking and laughing - and of course the leader is Ojai - she aaa...joke joke joke, theres this one story about her daughter that i cant stop smiling till now

Her daughter, 4 years old a bit timid and quiet ..one day Ojai called her "IKA!...IKA!!" - Ika has the habit of not answering when called - so Ojai was sort of furious - look for her who is hiding behind a door and Ojai said " Lain kali mama panggil nyahut! paham tak nyahuttt!! " ( When I call u answer! ) Ojai repeated the 'statement' over and over to IKA. The next day Ojai wanted to test her and called her :
"IKA!"
and Ika answered:
"Nyahut...."

We all laughed like mad nasib baik tak terbalik meja n kerusi...heheheeeeeee

Nevertheless...due to the gathering I sort of manage to track a bit over 100 of us whos in Malaysia and all over the world out of about 215 of us, cool eh.. " takdo kojo caghi kojo, ado kojo tercongang congang" So next year we hope to gather ( in RED) and make it more happening!
