One of those supposed city...
I was here...
Ipoh.. attended a course...
Spent two nites there. My cuz accompanied me. Ipoh is my hometown, since my Opah passed away, we rarely go back to Ipoh, unless theres wedding or funeral. So, since i normally dont do the driving, if and when we are there, Ipoh town roads and places are sorta alien to me. the roads are mostly one way and roundabouts. Now theres a few new business centres. So we went round and round almost the whole of Ipoh to look for a place ;-P..
One thing for sure, Ipoh is a very 'economical' place to stay..drivers are slow and steady..no rush.. and we discovered some amazing stuffs there...
the first night we arrived, we went to a mamak restaurant for a drink..ordered roti canai..
Walah!...quick question to the mamak." Bang ini roti canai satu ke dua?" rm1.00..SOOO Big!!... The guy wasnt surprise when i asked him that...very tough for us to finish it..
During my lunch break..we went to IpohP@rade...my cuz happily reached out her hand to the parking-entrance-machine to take the parking ticket or chip..and was a bit startled when she had to put in coins hehheee
..and if you are looking for coupons for roadside parking..theres nowhere to be found near the parking spaces! Amazing! ;-P
The night after breakfast, we went all around Ipoh to look for Americanpool table, but ekkk...none..nil! So we ended up playing snooker..made a 'grand entrance' to the snooker centre, all eyes were at us...hehee..We never played snooker together before. The last time for me was i think 15 years ago..
..before that while we were 'cruising around' looking for a pool table..we found a very funny 'signboard'..at GreeeentownnMall (at least for us is funny hehehhe )
... Nyanyian karaoke Melayu!..dhang!hehhe
While we were in town to buy some stuffs on the last day, one 'scary' thing happened at a parking place. Theres this insane lady came knocking on the window and were shouting at us. We cant barely hear what she was saying..and we dare not open the window or reverse as her feet was under the car. I then, showed her the signs to backoff..she was still mumbling and screaming to us. I then, 'waved out' and said 'GO!'..she refused. Lose my patience..i screamed to her " BLAHLAH WOI! "..she cursed and sweared like nobody business to me. I then asked my cuz to just reverse, then only that lady went off..with a lot more cursing..duh!
..and the course i attended...mengantuk siotttsss...
..Ipoh is fun!..hehhee
PEACE

I miss Ipoh. I was there in May 1969 when the curfew siren blared and my mom hid me beneath a bed. I have many relatives still in the areas of Menglembu, Kuala Pari, Pasir Puteh.
I lived there between 1992-93 and that was where my daughter Hana was born.
Cheap food. Bungalow can be rented from RM800 in Pasir Puteh.

Yeah, Ipoh has always been lauded as the best city to live in...also to retire. :)
My mom from Taiping. Me born and bred in KL, but would not mind staying in small town, or quieter cities. :)
obviously..a good place to retire..
i am not sure i can live in quieter cities, just yet..may be in the future ;-P
